Inspirational side note: if you have the opportunity, please visit the pamphlet exhibition at Senate House Library. The collection features handmade zines, artist books, pamphlets, and broadsheets from the likes of Blake, suffragette movement, early Audre Lorde poetry (bliss), all manner of printed anarchy, handmade books, alongside Pickwick Papers and off-Broadway playbills. I completely geeked out and have been boring my family stiff with printed material anecdotes. The exhibition was curated by the British Library’s librarian team (hello dream scenario of gold medal Olympian librarians) who happily answered my 5,000 questions x
Also, if you want to make a day of it, there is a Secret Map exhibition next door in the main hall at the British Library. What is not to love?
Good luck!
